Day, Sirmans Leaving BC

February 10, 2012

Just three days after Dave Brock left Boston College for Rutgers, two more football coaches are headed out of Chestnut Hill. Former wide receivers coach Ryan Day will take the offensive coordinator position at Temple, while former running backs coach Ben Sirmans will take that same position at Rutgers, according to a BC source.

The move makes sense for Day, who was passed over three times as a potential offensive coordinator at BC. He will finally get that opportunity with Temple in the 2012 season.

Meanwhile, Sirmans’ move to the same coaching spot at Rutgers is likely tied in with his relationship with Brock. Sirmans was thought of as a solid recruiter by many, making his departure even more significant.
